In a meet Monday in Larimore and another last week in Beulah, Quinn Neppl and Riley Zachmeier led their respective Panther cross country squads.

Neppl and Zachmeier were individual winners last Tuesday at the Beulah-Hazen MIZON Invitational with the former finishing with a time of 21:24, and the latter finishing with a time of 17:41.

On Monday, Neppl finished seventh (20:57), while Zachmeier finished fourth (17:45).

Rugby had four girls take top 10 spots in both meets. At Beulah Ellie Duchscherer took second, Tristin Lunde took third and Mykell Heidlebaugh took ninth. In Larimore Lunde took eighth, Duchscherer ninth and Karsyn Hager took 10th. As a team, the girls took first at both meets.

For the boys, Zachmeier was the sole Rugby runner in the top 10 at Larimore. At Beulah, the next closest runner to Zachmeier for the Panthers was Dawson Schepp, who took ninth. The boys as a team took second at Beulah and third at Larimore.

The teams are competing today on their home turf. Upcoming meets include a regular meet (Oct. 12) and a postseason meet (Oct. 21) in Griggs County.
