Girls golf places 14th at state

Rugby Panthers girls golf team placed 14th at the Class B Golf State Tournament on May 29- 30 at Dakota Winds Golf Course at Hankinson.

Placing in the first position for the Panthers was Aly Mundahl with an overall score of+50. Second was Morgan LaRocque with an overall score of +59. In the third-place position was Saige Connot with an overall score of +74. Following in fourth place was Anna Johnson with an overall score of +79. Fifth place was Sarah Blessum with an overall score of +83, and sixth place was Jacque Blessum with an overall score of +84.

"I think our girls golf team did very well. They are a very young team and we look forward to see what they can do in the future," said Scott Grochow, Rugby High School athletic director.

In the boys golf competition Panther Brock Haakenson, from Rugby, scored 91 on day one, and 82 on day two for an overall of +29 score. This placed him finishing at 43rd overall.

The Rugby Panther's boys golf team did not qualify for participating in the State Tournament this year.
