Lillian Margaret Massine

Lillian Margaret Massine, 91, Rugby died on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Lillian was born on July 30, 1926 in Balta to Andrew Theodore and Mary Eva (Schell) Gross. Later that year the family moved to New Rockford where she attended country school.

The family moved to Rugby in 1941. Lillian married Fred Michael Massine in Rugby on November 24, 1947 and was blessed with 61 years of marriage.

She worked at the Fairmont Creamery for 4 years, Rugby Bakery for 2 years and Bickler's Jack and Jill for over 20 years when she retired.

She enjoyed working with her hands and made dish towels and afghans for all of her family grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her flowers and

garden, playing golf with Fred, going fishing and camping. She enjoyed seeing her entire family and playing cards with her friends. She will be greatly missed by every-

one who knew Lil.

She was an honorary member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Lillian volunteered at the Heart of America Medical Center and worked in the craft department for many years. She was a longtime member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby.

Lillian's family are her children Linda Herrmann Yankton, South Dakota; Fred Jr and his wife Patti Massine - Vernal, Utah; Duane and his wife Ann Massine - Alliance, Nebraska, and Darlene and her husband Douglas Goetz - Rugby. She also leaves a sister, Margie Wright - New Rockford, North Dakota. Eight

Grandchildren, Eight Great-grandchildren, one step grandchild and 3 step great-grandchildren will miss their grandmother very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband on November 17, 2009, her mother in 1996, her father in 1964, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 brothers-in-law, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 26th at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at Little Flower Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Graner offi-

ciated and Galen and Glenda Mack provided music. The casket bearers were Michael Goetz, Andrew Hanretty, Chad Herrmann, Nicholas and Timothy Massine and

Jeremy Trueman. Visitation was on Monday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. followed by a prayer service at 7 P.M. Visitation continued on Tuesday from 8 AM until 10:30 AM.
