Mary Jane Weimer Longmire

Mary Jane (Price) Weimer Longmire of Waconia, MN and formerly of Rugby, ND passed away peacefully on July 5, 2019. Mary Jane was born on July 29, 1924 in Rock Lake, ND to Roy and Florence (Henle) Price. Soon after, she moved with her family to Grafton, ND where she lived throughout her youth until she graduated high school. Mary Jane then attended St. Michael's School of Nursing in Grand Forks, ND and became an RN. It was in Grand Forks where she met her future husband, Carl Weimer, and then married on April 19, 1948. Carl's Optometry career took them to Rugby, ND where they raised 6 children and lived until 1990.

Mary Jane worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby for many years as a nurse in various areas and a nursing instructor until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and was the organist there for several years. She had many hobbies which included music, gardening, bridge and coffee parties with her beloved friends. But her joy in life came from being a devoted wife to Carl and mother to her six children. After Carl's retirement, they moved to Alexandria, MN and resided there until Carl passed away in 2003. Mary Jane later married George Longmire when she was 82 years old.

They had 6 years together until George's death in 2012.

Mary Jane is survived by her six children: Jeff Weimer (Colleen), The Woodlands TX; Carl Weimer (Colleen), Northfield MN; Brian Weimer (Nancy), Mankato MN; Ann Lund (Jeff), Cannon Falls MN; Bill Weimer (Lora), Woodbury MN; Barbara Jacob (Tom), Deephaven MN; and step-daughter Linda Longmire, New York NY. Her children were blessed to have her as a mother and a teacher of life. Mary Jane was a woman who loved her family and friends and showed sincere kindness to everyone she met.

She also leaves grandchildren Christopher, Amber, Heidi, Sara, Kyle, Jacob, Michael, Darryl, Lucas, Andrew, Julia, Carly and Shannon; great grandchildren Olivia, Ella, MacKenzie, Henley, Avery and Wyatt; and

several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, sister Dorie, brothers Bud and Dick, nephew Doc, and stepson George.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 11:30 AM with visitation starting at 10:30 AM all at Bertas Funeral Home, 200 West Third Street, Chaska, MN with Father Stan Mader officiating. The burial took place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, at 1:15 PM.
